Public Health Crisis Communication
Hurricane season is upon us! Big snowstorms and icestorms are around the corner! And it’s always the season for food-borne diseases, sewage spills into the water system, or infectious disease outbreaks – there’s always a public health crisis somewhere. If you have had experience with communicating during a public health crisis, please share your lessons learned. What was the crisis? How did you communicate with the media? the community? others? What were some of your challenges? What do you recommend to others facing a public health crisis?

Purpose of this blog
Come with your questions and suggestions about putting your learning into action on the job. What are the most important/useful skills you have learned from NCIPH executive education programs? How have you put them to use at work? What barriers have you come up against as you try to implement these skills? What accomplishments are you most proud of? What do you think we should add to our programs, in terms of skill sets we teach? Let us -- and your fellow alumni -- know!
